The Under Twos

Caterpillar Room is a purpose built room and outside area for our under twos, in which we have 6 babies.

Our priority for our youngest children is to provide a personal, caring and nurturing environment. We will ensure your child settles well into the nursery from the start, focusing on providing a comfortable, safe and stimulating environment.

Your babies Key Person will also provide updates throughout the day of when they sleep, what they eat and pictures of what they are doing at nursery to keep you fully informed along with any next steps through our online journal.

Your babies Key Person will ensure that routines such as nappy changing and feeding and settling to sleep are opportunities for ‘one to one’ time, and are consistent with your routines at home.

Caterpillar Room offers a cosy environment where babies can play, rest and sleep. We have a separate sleeping area where your baby can enjoy a nap at any time of the day in a quiet and calm environment.

Our staff will spend dedicated time interacting, talking, and playing with your child. We offer activities like messy play, music time, heuristic play and plenty of indoor and outdoor opportunities.

Around the time of Baby's second birthday, we will arrange inductions for you and your child to move to Butterfly Room. This will ensure that the transition goes as smooth as possible so that everyone is happy and comfortable.
